Our hearts reach out in solicitude to those sadly affected by the recent disastrous floods that hit the Southern state of Kerela. we are deeply concerned about the loss of life, livelihood and property of those affected and our thoughts and Prayers are with the suffering brothers and sisters there.

Don Bosco School, Katihar too like many other institutions has come forward and has reached out in small way to assist the needy. The Administration, the Staff, the Students and the Parents have collectively made a contribution of Rs. 3,000,00/- (Three Lakhs), for the relief of the Flood victims and another Rs. 1,66,000/- (One Lakh Sixty Six Thousand) for the assistance of the needy Children through Child Help Foundation, Kolkata. Thus recently a total of Rs. 4.66 Lakhs has been garnered for Social Charities.

We have dispatched an amount of Rs. 2,000,00/- (Two Lakhs) on-line, to the CISCE (ICSE) office for the purpose of collectively making a good contribution from all the Council Affiliated Schools to the Kerela Chief Minister's Flood Relief Fund. The other 1 Lakh has been forwarded to Don Bosco Development Society, Kolkata for the same purpose.

डॉन बॉसको स्कूल ,कटिहार – पीड़ितों की सेवा में एक पहल

दक्षिण भारत के केरल राज्य में जो प्राकृतिक आपदा बाढ़ के रूप में आई थी , इस भीषण बाढ़ ने लोगों के जीवन शैली को तबाह कर दिया है, जिसके वजह से लाखों – करोड़ों की संपत्ति नष्ट हो गई है | वहाँ के निवासी बेघर हो गए हैं और बहुतों ने अपने प्रियजनों को खो दिया है | इस बाढ़ से हुए हानि और क्षति को सुनकर एवं देखकर हम सबों का ह्रदय संवेदनशील और अपनापन महसूस करतें है और वहां के निवासियों के साथ उनका दुःख दर्द बांटना चाहते हैं क्योंकि हम सभी एक ही देश और माँ के संतान है ,अर्थात् हम सभी भारतीय हैं और इस विपत्ति की घड़ी में पीड़ित एवं असहाय केरल वासियों के साथ हम सब एकमत हैं |

अन्य संस्थानों की तरह ही डॉन बॉसको स्कूल कटिहार ,ने भी छोटे तरीके से ज़रूरतमंदों की सहायता करने की एक पहल की है | बाढ़ पीड़ितों की सहायता के लिए प्रबंधन समिति ,हमारे सहकर्मी ,हमारे छात्र और छात्राएँ और अभिभावकों ने मिलकर 3,00,000/-(तीन लाख) रूपये का योगदान दिया है | इसके अलावा भी हमारे छात्रों ने “चाइल्ड हेल्थ फाउंडेशन , कोलकाता के द्वारा 1,66,000/- रुपये का योगदान दिया है | इस प्रकार हमलोगों ने 4.66 लाख रुपये सामाजिक दान के लिए संचित किया है |

हमलोगों ने कुल राशि का 2,00,000/- रुपये C|SCE (|CSE) के कार्यालय भेजा ,जहाँ सभी सम्बद्ध विद्यालय परिषद् ने केरल के मुख्यमंत्री बाढ़ रहत कोष में यथासामर्थ्य योगदान दिया है | दूसरी ओर इसी उद्देश्य हेतु 1,00,000/-रूपये भी डॉन बॉसको सोसाइटी ,कोलकाता को अग्रेषित किया गया है |

हम, हमारे उन सभी दाताओं के प्रति आभार प्रकट करते हैं ,जो उदारता से आगे आकर जरूरतमंदों और पीड़ितों की सेवा में अपना महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है | सर्वशक्तिमान ईश्वर ,हम सब पर अपना आशीर्वाद बनाये रखें |
